About Music Ministry

In 2007, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican approved SING TO THE LORD: Music in Divine Worship. This new document provides a firm foundation for musicians and the role music plays in our liturgical celebrations. "Within the gathered assembly, the role of the congregation is especially important. The full and active participation by all the people is the aim to be considered before all else..." (#11) "The whole assembly is actively involved in the music of the liturgy. Some members of the community, however, are recognized for the special gifts they exhibit in leading the musical praise and thanksgiving of Christian assemblies." (#48)
