The following is an alphabetical listing of the opportunities for more personal involvement in the community of Our Lady of Grace Parish. In each case along with the brief descriptions is a contact person and contact phone number. We welcome all who wish to participate.

 

55'ers

The 55'ers is a senior citizen group who are at least 55 years of age. We meet for a pitch-in luncheon on the second Tuesday of each month at noon in the Community Room. Our goal is to provide friendship to senior citizens, married or single. Our program usually included parish announcements and a local guest speaker. We do not have fundraisers or a treasury. Some of us are available to assist with other groups or projects. For more information, contact Bea Ebbinghaus at 774-8146.

Altar and Rosary Society

To provide spiritual, service and social activities for women of the parish through recitation of the rosary, tending to the care of the sick and elderly and promoting fellowship among all the parishioners.  Open to all women of the parish over 18, the society fosters daily recitation of the rosary, greets newcomers, visits nursing homes, sends greetings to parishioners who are ill, prepares hospitality where there is a death in the family of a parishioner, serves food for special occasions and hosts special programs for members.  For more information, please contact Pam Wind 773-9212.

Athletic Committee

To provide an atmosphere of Christian sportsmanship, in which God’s gifts of athletic ability can be strengthened to provide a positive environment of physical, mental and spiritual growth, physical activity for the well being of the participants, to have fun, provide an example of Christian sportsmanship for everyone to see and follow, to teach the value of team participation as it relates to school, church and community and to strengthen the self-esteem of the participants. Couples Night Out (CNO)

Cursillo

An international movement of persons dedicated to be active instruments of the Holy Spirit in the community and church environment. They aim to bring men and women to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through fellowship, prayer and a Cursillo weekend retreat. This spiritual journey continues and develops individuals as leaders to evangelize their own environment. For more information, please contact Ron and Veronica Anderson 317-773-1077.

Divorce Recovery

Under the direction of the Diocese of Lafayette for the Carmel Deanery. Each participant must be divorced or legally separated. There are eight, two-hour sessions conducted on consecutive Thursday evenings. The workshop is progressive; and while perfect attendance is not mandatory, the best results are obtained when the participant is present for all sessions. Euchre Card Club

Facilities Committee

A group that concerns itself with general parish facilities issues. For more information please contact Mike Witka 317-773-4275 x 233.

Finance Council

This council provides support, consultation and assistance to the Pastor as well as the parish staff in connection to the financial operations of our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and School. Members of this council meet monthly to review the financial affairs of the parish including contributions and other revenue sources as well as spending relative to the approved budget. First Tuesdays Book Club

Hospitality Council

The Hospitality Council focuses on all aspects of hospitality for the entire parish. Do you have ideas or comments about hospitality at Our Lady of Grace? We want and need your ideas and input. The Hospitality Council at Our Lady of Grace is growing! Come be part of the excitement! Knights of Columbus

Knights Of Columbus

An international organization dedicated to the ideals of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism by providing activities that are Catholic, family oriented, fraternal and service directed. Landscaping Volunteers

Groups of parishioners interested in gardening who have taken responsibility for a specific portion of OLG’s landscape and maintain it. This includes planting, weeding and general sprucing up of their portion. For more information please contact Mike Witka 317-773-4275 x.233

Our Lady of Grace Preschool

Our Lady of Grace Preschool provides each child with a positive learning experience through a variety of activities that encourage social and academic development, as well as a basic belief in God. The Preschool program is designed to help children, ages three, four and five, develop skills in the following areas: social, emotional, large and small motor skills, listening, reading readiness, math readiness, science and health readiness and social studies. Our Lady of Grace School

Offers grades K through eight to provide Spiritual Guidance for God’s children through Religious and Academic Education where excellence is expected, discipline is understood, family is valued and social awareness is strengthened. Parent-Teacher's Organization (PTO)

Parish Advisory Board

The Parish Advisory Board fulfills a consultative role to the pastor in decision-making processes, a collaborative role with the pastor, staff, and other parish groups in planning and implementation, and a facilitative role in communication among and between various parish councils, committees, ministries, etc. For more information contact Jim Hogan 776-0782.

Parish Implementation Team

As a result of feed back from personal interviews, parish surveys, input sessions, parish planning team and parish convocation, the Stewardship Core Team has identified seven key challenges for Our Lady of Grace Church and School. The Parish Implementation Team will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a plan(s) of action that will address each of these challenges. Scouts

Our Lady of Grace Church currently sponsors a pack of Cub Scouts and several troops of Girl Scouts. Boys in the first through fifth grades (or ages 7, 8, 9, or 10) may join a Cub Scout pack. For more information, please contact Rob or Mary Anderson 317-770-1751.

Social Concerns Council

This council will provide support, consultation, and assistance to the Pastor in all ministries of charitable outreach, advocacy, justice, and Christian service. Groups which will be represented on the SCC include the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Haiti Mission, St. Paul’s in McKee, Kentucky, Right to Life, etc. The council will also be represented on the Parish Advisory Board. Sunday Coffee and Donuts

Setting up and providing coffee and donuts to be served after the 7:30 and 9:00 services. Please contact the parish office, 773-4275, if interested.

Technology Committee

A group that assists in keeping the parish web site and assists in design and content of other parish publications. For more information please contact Mike Witka 317-773-4275 ex.233

Web Committee

The Web Committee are those individuals responsible for setting up the Web Pages for Our Lady of Grace Church and School. We receive information from the various committees, ministries, and individuals from around the parish, as well as the school, and format it into a pleasing presentation. We are continuing to work hard at making the Our Lady of Grace Web space and using and interactive environment for all. Welcoming Committee

The Welcoming Committee runs the Newcomers Reception and Registration Brunch once a month and also staffs the Welcome Table after each Mass. We have many opportunities for involvement, and most do not require a huge time commitment. We meet once a month and babysitting is offered at the Brunch for those who want to help!
